To read Pring’s account carefully, many of the events related here may very well have happened somewhere along the Massachusetts coast.  However, the story paints a stark picture of the dynamics between early European explorers, native peoples, and the natural resources they shared.

As a report to his shareholders (“the Adventurers”), Pring kept a detailed journal of his trip.
